Safwat Higazy

Born in 1963, he is an Islamic preacher and has a PhD in Beliefs and Religions from university of Dijon, France. He has written many books and hosted many TV programs discussing religion. He is a supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood and was arrested on 21 August 2013, after being accused of encouraging people to act violently against the state and authorities. He was sentenced to death by Egyptian courts on 14 June 2021 for taking part in “Rabaa Protests “in 2013.
